At the beginning 2025 year, according to the Migration Department, 217 988 foreigners have a residence permit in Lithuania. It's almost on 5000 less, than at the beginning 2024 year.
As before, Ukrainians remain the largest groups of foreigners (77 080), Belarusian (57 511) and Russian (14 978) citizens. However, their number has decreased compared to 2024 year: Ukrainians have decreased by 10,7%, Belarusians - on 7,5%, and Russians - 5,7%. The number of residents from Kyrgyzstan also decreased.
At the same time, the number of immigrants from such countries has increased, how India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and others.
The most common reason for cancellation of a residence permit is the absence or termination of an employment contract.
